Ridgewood has a long track record of showing up for children in need — and that generosity truly
changes lives.
Right now, Ridgewood is home to eight Bergen CASA Advocates, more than any other town in the county. These volunteers step in for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, making sure their voices are heard and their needs don’t get lost in a complex system.
We see Ridgewood’s compassion in action all the time. When a child arrives in foster care with only the clothes they’re wearing, our social media requests are met almost instantly — coats, shoes, toys, and essentials donated by neighbors who simply want to help a child feel safe and cared for.
We’re also incredibly grateful to the Ridgewood Woman’s Club, whose support has ranged from collecting baby supplies to donating beautiful basket prizes for our fundraisers. Their generosity (including proceeds from their fashion show) reflects the strong sense of community that defines Ridgewood.
In March, we’ll be training a new class of Advocates, and we’d love to welcome more Ridgewood residents who want to make a lasting difference in a child’s life. You can learn more by attending one of our information sessions. When a community shows up, children feel it.
