WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Bergen County CASA supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and  neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes. In order to further this mission,  Bergen County CASA may collect certain information from you through the Site, including personal  information (i.e., individual information that may be used to personally identify or contact you).  Collection is done both actively (information you voluntarily submit to us) and passively (information  automatically gathered from your computer).

ACTIVE COLLECTION

At several places on the Site, we collect certain information you voluntarily provide to us which may  contain personally identifiable information. For example, if you donate, become a member, fill out a  form or register for an event through the site, we may collect your name, address, phone, and email.  You may also provide us with credit card information for payment of donations. However, credit card

information is only used to process the transaction. In addition, from time to time the Site may request  information as part of surveys or contests or in connection with grant applications and reporting. If you  send us an email we may store that information as well.

PASSIVE COLLECTION

Cookies. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the  user. Usage of a cookie is not linked to any personally identifiable information while on the Site. We use  cookies to track a user’s path for security purposes, to collect aggregate web statistics and in an effort to  enhance the experience on the Site. If you wish to block, erase, or be warned of cookies, please refer to  your browser instructions or help screen to learn about these functions. If a user rejects a cookie, they  may still use the Site, however they will be limited in some of its areas. For example, the user may not  receive certain information from us.
