Ways to Give
We realize how many incredible organizations and noble causes there are out there. And we realize that you have a choice when it comes to which ones you get involved with and support. We hope you’ll consider giving to CASA for Children of Bergen County and here are just a few ways to do that.

How will my donation make a difference?
Very simply, donations allow for the recruitment, training and support of court appointed advocate volunteers each year. Those volunteers will be assigned to children in foster care and serve a critical role in ensuring that no child slips through the cracks of an overburdened system. They’ll see to it that each child is given the rights and opportunities he or she deserves while in foster care. They’ll serve as a dedicated set of eyes and ears to a family court judge who will ultimately decide the permanent placement for a child. Maybe most importantly, they’ll be a constant in a child’s life during this unstable, and often scary, time.

Bergen CASA is so grateful to Genevieve and Mauricio Barragan, who adopted Christopher (age 6) and Darien (age 5) earlier this month. They hosted a celebratory adoption party and, in lieu of gifts, they asked their family and friends to bring needed items for kids in foster care to be donated to CASA.  This week they delivered over 16 bags of toys, toiletries, baby care items and clothing to the CASA office and posed for this beautiful family photo.  We are so happy AND proud of this very special "forever" family!  We also extend a huge THANK YOU to Marjorie Goldstein, CASA volunteer, who was assigned to the boys for nearly 2 years.

For several years, Rebecca Yun-Lee and her husband have been coordinating a fundraiser in memory of their daughter to benefit CASA's aging out youth. She stopped by the CASA office to meet our staff and drop off checks totaling $3,200 (!!) that was raised by their family and friends during this year's event. Thank you to all who participated and we are so grateful for their continued support. A Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist, Rebecca and our CASA team also discussed ways to collaborate on a workshop for our advocates this coming fall.

A HUGE thank you Amy Elfman, CASA Volunteer, and the Jewish Federation of Northern NJ who participated in their 18th Annual Mitzvah Day by coordinating a supplies drive for Bergen CASA! Amy delivered hundreds of toiletries and personal care items to our office on November 5th. For Mitzvah Day, volunteers young and old from the Jewish Federation of Northern NJ perform mitzvot (good deeds) to help at over 40 different sites to help impact lives in big and small ways. Bergen CASA is so grateful for their support.
