Thank you to Theresa Drennan, Wanda Ferrauiola, Lauren Awe, Patty Rafftery, and Karen Marcantonio who volunteered their time at the CASA table at Tenafly Community Night sponsored by the Police & Recreation Departments. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet so many Tenafly residents. We distributed information about CASA and attracted some potential advocates for our program
Through the collaborative efforts of CASA, the Family Court and the Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCP&P) here in Bergen County, foster youth ages 14-21 attended the “Embracing Independence” conference in Mahwah on July 10th. This annual event gives these young men and women an opportunity to learn about their rights and the services available to them as they transition to adulthood. The day included several educational and interactive presentations, a vendor fair and lots of raffle prizes and giveaways. A special thank you to ShopRite who provided lunch to all of the attendees!

Met Life Health & Fitness Expo
The four-time Super Bowl champion NY Giants and broadcast partner NBC 4 New York hosted the second annual FREE Health and Fitness Expo at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th. This family friendly event featured health and wellness tests and screenings, fitness activities, healthy cooking demonstrations and a meet and greet with Giants players and NBC talent. Our Program Director, Theresa Kehoe, was there both days to discuss and promote CASA with the public. She distributed information about CASA, answered questions and, hopefully, attracted some new volunteers and/or supporters. Martha Byrne, Bergen CASA's celebrity spokesperson, also made an appearance on behalf of CASA. Hundreds of people stopped by and learned more about our organization and signed up to join our email list. Many of them received CASA promotional items, such as beach balls, pens, canvas shopping bags and coin purses.
