 A benefit for our smallest citizens

On June 21, 2008  Whole Foods Market, Immaculate Baking Inc. and Organic Valley baked a GIANT, 10 ft wide Choclate Chip Cookie to benefit CASA

it took over 5 hours to bake this 500 pounds of chocolate chip cookie

 our very patient first customers of the day

 The event was a huge success raising over $800 for CASA!!!

Each year in New Jersey, approximately 12,000 abused and neglected children are removed from their homes and living in out-of-home placements (including foster homes, residential treatment facilities, shelter, and hospitals).  Bergen County is home to 452 of these children.

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program ensures that these children -- victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological torment, or abandonment -- have a voice in the court proceedings that determine their fates.

There are over 900 CASA programs throughout the United States, some of which have been in existence for over twenty years.  Bergen County CASA (BCCASA) was incorporated in February, 2003 and the office opened in August 2003.  

BCCASA is affiliated with both National CASA and CASA of NJ.

CSI Helps to Change Children's Lives:  If you are a CSI fan, William Petersen fan or a collector of rare and authentic television props, this can be yours. This model is an exact replica of Gil Grissom's office from the popular television series CSI. The model is the original prop used in the “Living Doll” episode from Season 7 and estimated to be worth $25,000.  All proceeds from this auction will go to the National CASA Association.  To learn more about the auction, please click here.
