Jennifer Murrin, M.A. - Executive Director - Jennifer received her B.A. in Sociology and Environmental Studies from Bucknell University in May 2000 and her M.A. in Applied Sociology from Montclair State University in May 2003. During her M.A. program she interned with CASA of Morris & Sussex Counties, Inc. She currently resides in Hardyston Township. 

Ellen Eber, M.Ed. – Case Supervisor – Ellen joined Bergen County CASA as a volunteer in May, 2008. She received her B.S. in Political Science from Boston University and her M.Ed. from Rutgers University. After a varied career in advertising and government, Ellen decided to use some of her community service experience to serve children in difficult situations. After advocating for a child for a year, Ellen joined the staff in August, 2009. Ellen and her husband have two sons and have resided in Teaneck for over 30 years.

Theresa Kehoe - Case Supervisor - Theresa received her B.A. in Accounting from St. Peter's College in May 1981 and was working as a self-employed accountant and director of a nursery school when she joined Bergen County CASA as a volunteer in the Spring of 2005.  After advocating for two different children, she decided to make a "career change" and joined the CASA staff in July 2008.  Theresa and her two daughters have lived in Teaneck since 1987.

Barbara Spindel, M.S. - Case Supervisor - Barbara joined Bergen County CASA as a volunteer in October 2003 due to her strong desire to serve children who are in need.  She was amongst the first group of Bergen County volunteers to receive training. Barbara, who retired from the corporate environment a few years ago, worked as a corporate human resource director for over 15 years.  She earned a Masters of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resources from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1994, and achieved the Senior Professional Human Resource Certification designation from the Society for Human Resource Management.  Barbara and her husband have one son.  They have resided in Park Ridge, N.J. for over thirty years.


Chrystal Henion - Development Assistant - Chrystal graduated from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey with a major in Justice Studies and a minor in Justice and Families. During her time at Montclair State University she was provided the opportunity to intern at Bergen County CASA for a semester. Currently she is the VISTA for Bergen County CASA working as an Development Assistant.

Lawrence "Kip" Kramer
- President -
Kip is an attorney at V. Paulius and Associates in Allendale, NJ.  Kip, his wife, and their two sons live in Glen Rock, NJ.  

Jeffrey W Golden - Vice President - Jeff is a majority partner and President of a company he formed in 2006 that presents soliciting product and service companies to the Federal Government for the purpose of contract awards.  Prior to this, Jeff worked 16 years for The Movado Group as Senior VP of Sales.  He and his wife of 26 years live in North Haledon, NJ.

Mark Levy Secretary - Mark is a Director with RBC Capital Markets.  He has over twenty years of technology and finance experience, including working as an Executive Director for Morgan Stanley, for Ernst & Young's Management Consulting division, Pearson plc, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and his own management consulting company.  He lives in Washington Township with his wife and two children.  

James W Boyan III - Treasurer - Jim Boyan is an associate at a law firm in Florham Park, NJ.  While in law school he participated in the Juvenile Justice Clinic.  He previously served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Baton Rouge, LA.   Jim grew up in Bergen County but currently resides in Hoboken.   

Charlene Barbetta - Charlene Barbetta has been a real estate professional since 1988.  She holds a Broker's license and has been a Bergen County resident most of her adult life. Currently she is a broker for Coldwell Banker in Cresskill. She is a member of the New Jersey Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and an active member of RealSource Board of Realtors were she serves on several committees. Prior to joining the Board of Trustees, Charlene was a CASA volunteer for over one year. Charlene has two grown children and lives in Oradell, NJ.

Emily A. A. Dow - Emily is currently a Ph.D. student at The Graduate Center, City University of New York working towards a degree in Developmental Psychology.  She is also presently doing personality and motivation research at Barnard College, Columbia University under a federally funded grant.  Emily received her Masters in Applied Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University and is a graduate of Trinity College, Washington DC with a Bachelors degree in Educational Psychology.  Previously, she has spent time in the market research world working for GfK in the business-to-business and technology industries.  Emily resides in Teaneck.

Maxine Horvath - Maxine is currently a real estate agent with Burgdorff Realtors.  She is a retired business education teacher.  She is on the Board of Directors and several committees in her condominium association in Hackensack.

Lorraine Joewono - Lorraine currently holds the position of Director of Senior Services for the Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services in Bergen County.  She has been actively involved in various aspects of community service her entire life, including as a religious education teacher, girl scout troop leader, member of the women's club, school board association member, soccer coach and working on every Democratic Campaign on the Federal, State and Local level for over 25 years.  Lorraine has four children and four grandchildren.  She and her husband live in Carlstadt with their teenage daughter.

Lisa Sciancalepore - Lisa joined the Bergen County CASA Board of Trustees two years ago.  She is involved in many community organizations including the Friends of Franklin Lakes Library, Municipal Alliance, Shade Tree Committee, Cub and Girl Scouts, PTA, and is currently on the Board of Education for Franklin Lakes. Lisa has a teaching background and is a former Staff Assistant and Executive Assistant in the US House of Representatives. She lives in Franklin Lakes with her husband and two children. 

 

Bob Varettoni - Bob is executive director for corporate communications at Verizon.  He is a Verizon spokesperson, and his corporate communications career has spanned nearly 25 years in the telecommunications and technology industry.  A graduate of Notre Dame, Bob began his career as a journalist and editor.  He has provided pro-bono public relations support to a variety of non-profitsBob lives in New Milford with his wife and two daughters.
